Lilies Water Lilies are beautiful flowering plants that grow horizontally on top of your pond. To keep your water lilies blooming all summer, be sure to add fertilizer tablets about once a month. As leaves die they should be removed from the water lilies to keep you plants looking neat as dead vegetation is bad for water quality.
