Pink-Purple-Red Fuchsia
Fuchsias offer the home gardener a variety of colors and shapes to choose from.
The hybrids can have single, semi-double, double and clustered flowers.
Color combinations include purple petals with pink sepals, red petals with white sepals, lilac petals with pink sepals, white petals with red sepals, etc. Fuchsias do not like to dry out, it's important to remember to keep the soil moist to the touch from spring through autumn. If planted in a hanging pot, the fuchsia will require daily watering.
If your plant is planted as a hanging basket, make sure to keep it out of direct wind as that too will dry the plant and cause damage.
Likes a little sun, and more shade
Fuchsias need to be fed. A balanced 20-20-20 soluable fertilizer will work well. It is probably best to make a diluted mixture and use with each watering during the growing season - spring through autumn. If the leaves of your fuchsia are turning yellow, it may be from the roots not getting enough fertilizer. When this happens the plant will take stored nutrients from the leaves. So make sure to find a happy balance between water and fertilizer.
